Come and join us as we review the past year and select the new EXECUTIVE for the upcoming baseball season.
WRSSBA needs your participation. We are asking for parents to step up and volunteer for next year’s Executive Board.
The WRSSBA organizes and provides baseball to over 900 local youth between the ages of 5 and 18 years. It is only through your input, involvement and caring that this association can be an important and valued part of our community.
Proposed New Constitution and Bylaws, 2026 AGM
Members will vote on a complete replacement of the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws at this AGM.
Our current bylaws date from 2008 and were written under BC’s former Society Act, which has since been replaced. The proposed document brings us in line with current legislation and reflects how the Association operates today.
What’s changing, in brief:
- A defined and smaller board of five Officers plus ten named Age Division Coordinators (5U through 18U)
- Remaining volunteer roles such as field manager and equipment continue as Board-appointed positions, but no longer carry a seat on the board
- Two-year staggered terms for Officers, with Coordinators continuing on one-year terms
- A new Associate Member category for coaches, officials, and long-standing volunteers
- Meeting notice by email or website, and the option to hold meetings electronically
- New sections covering indemnification, member inspection rights, and dissolution
