Grand Opening of Centennial Cages Celebrates New Era for Local Baseball and Softball Community
The White Rock South Surrey Baseball Association (WRSSBA), in partnership with White Rock Renegades Girls Fastpitch, is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Centennial Cages, a long-anticipated indoor training facility designed to support the growth of youth baseball and softball in the community.
The celebration will take place on Sunday, April 12th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:00 PM. The event is open to the entire community.
The Centennial Cages mark a significant milestone for local sport organizations, representing years of planning, collaboration, and dedication. This shared facility provides athletes with a reliable, year-round training space, ensuring consistent development opportunities regardless of weather conditions.
“This project has been a long time coming, and it really shows what’s possible when people come together to support local sport,” said WRSSBA President, Michael Carriere. “We’re excited to finally open the doors and give our athletes a space they can use year-round.”
The Grand Opening will be a fun, family-friendly event featuring:
- A local food truck
- Soft serve ice cream
- Games and prizes for kids
- Face painting
- Community celebrations with players, families, sponsors, and supporters
- Residents, families, and supporters from across White Rock and South Surrey are encouraged to attend and be part of this exciting moment for local sport.
The Centennial Cages reflect a strong commitment to fostering youth development, promoting active lifestyles, and strengthening community connections through sport.
