11U Mosquito AAA Tritons – Provincial Champions!

The team faced adversity all weekend and displayed true grit, hard work and love for their teammates. Along with playing the best teams in the province our AAA boys had a very demanding schedule which saw them play 3 times in less than 18 hours. The boys wrapped up round robin play on Saturday night with a win vs the host, leaving the park in North Vancouver at 8:30pm.. Returning for warm up at 8:30am the next day for the semi final.

The boys found themselves down 3-1 heading to the top of the fifth inning. They scored a run, played great defense to get to the top of the sixth down a run. A tying home run and a throw out at first with the winning run on third pushed the game to an extra inning. Our boys scored 3 in the extra inning and shut the door in the bottom half!

In the final the team faced one of the top pitchers in the league and a very good Ridge Meadows team. The two previous times our team had faced this pitcher we came out on the losing end. This time was different, our boys scored 4 in the first and scored a total of 9 runs. The most this pitcher had given up all season! Ridge Meadows made a late push but the boys played outstanding defense to hold off the charge.

Congratulations to this group of players, coaches and families. Over the two years this group has been together for Mosquito summer ball their record was 53-6, they never lost two games in a row and they are the first group in BC at the mosquito level to win back to back provincial titles.
