11U Mosquito A Tritons – Provincial Champions!

The 11U A White Rock South Surrey team won the Provincials on August 6th!

The players only had 7 weeks with each other but came together as a group and played really well. In our run to the title we played 4 of the top teams in the Province and outscored those teams by a combined 41-4 score.

We faced our biggest rival, Richmond in the round robin and made quick work of them winning 10-0. That victory secured top seed in our bracket. We then faced Ridge Meadows in the Semi Final, they are really well coached and have played us pretty tough in the past, but the boys were ready and played a great game winning 11-1.

This set up a battle with the #1 seed of the tournament Abbotsford, a team that we had split our previous two games with and actually lost a week prior by 10 runs to. That was not going to happen this time around. After the first inning the game was tied at 2, but that was as close as Abbotsford would get. White Rock played sound defensively, threw strikes and crushed the ball all over the park. Every member played a significant part in the victory and throughout the weekend.

This is the first ever Provincial title for WRSSBA in the 11U A age group and that was the goal the team had set when they first got together to start summer ball.
