Gold Weekend for 11U Summer Teams!

Gold, Gold, Gold – for our WRSSBA 11U Tritons!

Battling tough competition and the summer heat, it was an extremely successful July 11-13 weekend as all three of WRSSBA’s 11U Tritons teams claimed the top spot in their respective tournaments!!!

The 11U A Tritons continued their winning ways with a very decisive tournament win again last weekend in Burnaby. This is the second straight tournament win for the 11U A squad, improving their summer season record to 14-0. During the round robin games, the 11U A Tritons defeated Tsawwassen 14-4, Kelowna 15-2, and Ridge Meadows 16-6 with contributions from players up and down the lineup. In the semi-final game, they defeated Richmond 17-7, led by Parker Lyons, who paced the team going 3 for 3 with 6 RBI, including a home run and a triple. In the final, the 11U A Tritons defeated Ridge Meadows once again, this time by a score of 16-3. Alek Funk and Julian Bogusz, pitching in front of some very strong defensive play, were dealing on the mound, holding the Ridge Meadows Royals to only 3 runs. At the plate, the Tritons were powered by 3 home runs from each of Madden Haynes, Bogusz and Joe Carter. Overall, an incredible performance from the 11U A Tritons team outscoring their opponents by a total of 78-22 in the 5 games.

The 11U AA Tritons had an undefeated championship run at the Rumble in the Ridge tournament, hosted by Ridge Meadows! The team showed incredible growth, determination, and teamwork throughout the weekend, coming together to deliver dominant performances in every game. The final was especially rewarding, as the Tritons faced Langley Little League—the same team that edged them out by a single run in the Boulanger Memorial final on Canada Day—and this time, the Tritons came out victorious. A well-earned win and a moment of redemption for this hardworking group!

Last, but by no means least, the 11U AAA Tritons battled stiff competition to take top spot in the Three Earls of Everett tournament, held in Everett, Washington! Facing off against some tough competition from the Pacific Northwest, the Tritons showcased heart, hustle, and high-level baseball IQ to go undefeated throughout the tournament. The final game was a true nail-biter, with the Tritons edging out the formidable Whatcom Mudcats 11U Selects in a dramatic finish. With the score tied heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, the Tritons dug deep and delivered a clutch performance. Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated remarkable adaptability, quickly adjusting to U.S. rules and field dynamics. Their ability to stay composed under pressure and make smart in-game adjustments was a testament to their preparation and teamwork.

These triple championships mark a tremendous achievement for the WRSSBA Tritons 11U age group – a proud moment for the players, coaches, and families!!

CONGRATULATIONS to the 11U A, AA and AAA teams!
