2025 Henri Lorieau Memorial Tournament – Wrap Up
From June 27 to 30, 2025, WRSSBA proudly hosted the Annual Henri Lorieau Memorial Tournament — an event that holds deep meaning for our baseball community. Held in memory of our beloved past president Henri Lorieau, this tournament is more than just a celebration of the game — it’s a fundraiser in support of two incredible causes: the BC Challenger Program and the Canadian Cancer Society.
This year’s tournament was packed with excitement, sportsmanship, and community spirit. The competition was fierce and the energy electric as Hastings Little League clinched the championship title in a nail-biting final against Mt. Seymour. Meanwhile, our own White Rock teams faced off in an exciting bronze medal match, with White Rock Teal earning the medal in a great display of heart and hustle.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible volunteers. A huge thank you to our concession managers, Kelly MacGregor and Kirsten Yanicki, for their tireless hours spent restocking, opening, and closing each day.
We are also deeply grateful to Sheridan Abels, our Umpire in Chief, and his outstanding umpire crew, for their hard work and dedication throughout the weekend.
Special thanks to the families of the 8U White Rock Tritons Teal and 8U White Rock Tritons Black teams for helping with field prep and concession shifts—you kept everything running smoothly.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Henri Lorieau Tournament Committee:
John Hogg, Carl Sloback, Julie Lorieau, Nicole Lorieau, Marc Lorieau, Chantelle Lorieau, Gabe Embley, and Jordan Broach. Your dedication and countless hours of planning made this event a huge success.
Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, play, volunteer, and support. This tournament continues to honor Henri’s legacy in the best way possible—by bringing our community together.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
