2025 Winter Training – opens Friday Dec 13 at 8PM
We are excited to announce that our Winter Training registration will be opening Friday December 13, 2024 at 8pm and things are a bit different this time around!
Program Description
Starting in January, we are modifying our pathways to further improve our practice planning, and ensuring we set players up for success and continued skill development. Please note, this structure does not apply to our 9U or 15U/18U programs:
FUNdamentals: Sessions are focused on the principal movements of baseball and are encouraged for players who enjoy the recreational side of playing community sports or are newer to the sport. We will review the foundation of the baseball movements through detailed instruction and add repetitions through various fun and engaging activities. We will focus on hitting, glove work, athletic movement, and throwing skills. (National League / A-AA)
Experienced: Sessions are directed toward players evaluated for summer ball, single-season teams, or those who desire to play summer baseball and reach a new skill level tier. Players will be focused and dedicated, and coaches will hold players responsible for improving. Glove work will introduce ‘Dailies,’ focusing on footwork and direction. Hitting will educate the principles of the swing: base, separation, and timing. Drills and activities will vary weekly, while foundations are reviewed weekly. (American League / AA-AAA)
Group Movement Disclaimer: if a player is registered for a pathway that is well below, or above, their skill level, instructors/coordinators have the authorization to move players to the correct path. This is for all participants who want to achieve their personal best within our training programs. If you have any questions about which path to select, don’t hesitate to contact our program coordinator, Jordan Broatch, for clarification.
Sessions & Registration
Each session will include a high-energy SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) segment before initiating our daily throwing, hitting, and fielding instruction and practice. Our Program Development coordinator, Jordan Broatch, will prepare this baseball-focused skill development session with help from instructors from the White Rock Tritons and Baseball BC and Baseball Canada’s LTAD program.
This winters program’s instructors will be the head coach of the SR Tritons, Tyler Lawson, and other Triton coaches, including Ryan Kaplanis and Chris Strain. Jackson Hogg, who graduated from the White Rock program and played US college, will specialize in hitting. Reed Lavallee, a professional hitting coach with Trois-Riveres, will also be an instructor. Jordan Broatch, pitching coach with Baseball BC, will be one of the leading instructors for the Wednesday throwing/pitching-focused programming.
Winter Training will begin on January 13th and run for (9) weeks, ending on March 13th and the cost is $225 for the Hitting program and $175 for the Pitching program. Please note, each timeslot is limited to 10 athletes and will run as follows:
